Using Colored Roving
Tuesday, February 25, 2014, 7:30 p.m.
Wolbach Farm, 18 Wolbach Rd., Sudbury, Mass

SPA is coming up at the end of the month, and the first of the northeast area fiber festivals is in less than three months!  Such events tempt us all with colorful top and roving, a spinner’s eye candy.  How do you select which braids to buy, and once you get them home and unbraid them, how will you use them?  At our February program, Sally Bond will discuss various types of dyed braids (random, linear, palindromic) and how you might choose to spin them.  Come try some techniques (including fractals) for using dyed top and roving to take advantage of those vibrant colors.  There will be a fee of $2 for members  ($4 for non-members) to partially cover the cost of the fibers.  What to bring:  spinning wheel with two bobbins, scotch tape, and a lazy kate if you have one.
