Beaded
Wire Bracelet, Knitted or Crocheted
7:30 p.m., Wolbach Farm, 18 Wolbach Rd., Sudbury,
MA
Inspired by a class our own Susannah
Wheelwright took at the Gathering in 2010, this evening program will focus on
creating a wearable beaded bracelet. Bring your favorite beads with which
to adorn your creation! The instructor who taught Susannah was Annie
Foley, who teaches at Webs. Anne showed the Gathering class how to create
knitted bracelets and necklaces in garter stitch. Since then, Susannah
has experimented with different gauges of wire, different colors of wire and
colors and sizes of beads, and stainless yarn from Habu (yarn that has memory
and therefore an unusual drape). Susannah will bring a few samples of
crocheted and knitted wire items—please bring any samples that you have made
and we can do show and tell before we start our bracelets. Metallic
knitted and crocheted items also make fabulous gifts!
